Red Cross is an emergency response organisation, and this very much affects the asylum work in Denmark. Every day wars, conflicts and disasters force a record number of people to flee their homelands, and it is impossible to predict how many of these will arrive in Denmark. During the course of a few weeks, the weekly number of arrivals can change from 200 to 800, for example. On the other hand, the number can also decrease rapidly in a matter of days. These are unpredictable numbers in an unpredictable world. This places great demands on the emergency response and on our ability to constantly adapt. It requires a flexible organisation and it requires experience and, not least, competent and dedicated employees. Here, you can read what makes the Red Cross Asylum Department so special.
